Social Fox Brewing is proud to have partnered with the Leah McCammon Foundation based in Norcross, GA.
The Leah Mccammon Foundation, a 501c (3) recognized nonprofit, That has sponsored an Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament for the past 18 years. This tournament was organized to support Shriners Hospitals for Children and other local children’s charities.
Leah McCammon was just five days short of her first birthday when she was severely burnt in a tragic bathtub incident. In the blink of an eye, Leah pulled herself up by grabbing the faucet and turning it on. This sent scalding hot water splashing down on her. Despite the incredible efforts of the doctors at The Shriners Cincinnati Burn Hospital, two days later Leah passed away.
Leah’s mother, Shelly McCammon, wanted to bring awareness to these types of home accidents and appeared on national shows such as Good Morning America, The Today Show and CNN, as well as, an appearance before the Home Safety Council of North America. The silver lining from this tragic accident was the creation of the Hot Stop Valve pioneered by American Valve to help prevent scalding accidents.
The Shriner Celebrity Golf Tournaments were created in Leah’s memory to promote awareness of the wonderful work performed by the 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children across North America. Over the past 18 years, approximately $5 million has been raised in support of the Shriners Hospitals for Children with fundraising events in Charlotte, N.C. and Atlanta, GA. Your support for this event will help the Shriners Hospitals continue their mission of providing high quality care to children with burn injuries and special orthopedic needs free of charge.
