Maggie Lyon Chocolatiers was founded in December of 1981, bringing high quality European style chocolates to the South. After two years of extensive marketing research, the doors opened to the people of Atlanta. The name Maggie Lyon was chosen in honor of the founder’s grandmother, a pioneer woman from Ohio who ran a stagecoach stop until she retired at the age of ninety-two.
